Hi Dean,

The revised universe is a major improvement over the original version (IOHO), further enhancing the overall image - which was already excellent!

(So that makes it super-massive-excellent... :cool: ).

Keep up the great work - your images are always a real joy to behold... :)

Thanks. I have not come across of too many in the sky yet. They will come.
 
A few more images from our January visit to Chester Zoo, Cheshire, England. (The compilations are a mix of R5 and R7 shots - ignore the exif data).

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PhotoLab Elite, Adobe Lightroom Classic/ Photoshop with Tony Kuyper TK-9 Panels and Topaz Labs Photo AI).

Hi David,

Drama in the skies!

You did very well to spot the unfolding action in the first instance and then even better to find, track and capture it with your gear - no mean feat in itself.

Thank you. The raven amicably left the scene. It didn't like the odds of getting tag-teamed. :D As a side note, one of the combatants, the Eurasian sparrowhawk (pic below), can be a bit difficult to distinguish from the Japanese sparrowhawk. Luckily, the Eurasian has 6 individual wingtips (5 for the Japanese).

Silver Gull and Curlew Sandpiper

Curlew Sandpiper : Calidris ferruginea
Moreton Bay, Queensland​

One of our local 'seagulls' spent ten or so minutes standing amongst a few dozen refugees from arctic Siberia, and then, without any warning that I could discern, barged through the little fellas causing one of them to execute an emergency take-off.

In a month of two, the Curlew Sandpipers will be gone: back to their breeding grounds fringing the far north-west Pacific.

You caught the moment beautifully!

Perfect 'take-off thrust' pose from the gull - and 'arrrrgh' reaction from the curlew with sublime control of the light (by you).
