Wonderful set of photos, love the robins
Hi Don,

Cheers - much appreciated!

During the winter time we generally develop a symbiotic relationship with the local bird population - seed for photos!

(It feels good to spread a little cheer).

A few photos from the last (very hectic) 1-2 months, starting with a half moon and full moon photo, taken with 1280 mm effective focal length with the R7 and 800 mm f/11.

This female white-breasted nuthatch is showing display behavior trying to project dominance. To be honest, these birds do this a lot and I don't think the other birds pay attention...😁

I captured this nice black-capped chickadee chilling out in the trees

This pretty female eastern bluebird visited our feeder for a snack

The birds at the feeder were very concerned by a pair of red-tailed hawks circling high above our yard (one shown below), but were thrown into a tizzy by an attacking Cooper's hawk that crested over our house with the low winter sun behind, swooping suddenly down to the feeders. The Cooper's didn't catch anything and flew on, and I didn't get a photo of it

Hi Don,

A terrific set of images - two simply stunning moon shots and a collection of wonderful bird shots (the eastern bluebird - just - being our favourite).

Thank you for sharing - keep up the great work! :)

By way of contrast, She Who Must Be Obeyed has discovered an enthusiasm for little succulents in pots around the house and back garden. This flower recently appeared on the front verandah. Image is a focus stack of 10 exposures, processed in Photoshop 24, tweaked in LRC.

Hi Gareth,

What a truly delightful shot - fascinating detail and wonderful colours that draw the viewer in for a closer look - well worth all your (considerable) efforts.

Well done indeed and thank you for sharing! :)

We're back after a pleasant weekend away in 'Frank', which included a couple of fun visits to Chester Zoo (a few images to follow in a little bit!).

In the meantime, some more recent-ish shots from our local woods (Hartshill Country Park, Warwickshire, England).

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PhotoLab Elite, Adobe Lightroom Classic/ Photoshop and Topaz Labs Photo AI).

Love the smiling squirrel!
Hi Graham,

What a little cutie - we're just hoping they don't work out there's a lot more of them than us (and we're carrying all the seeds and nuts)... 😅 😂

Went back down to the waterfront this evening just as the sun was setting and saw so may pelicans splashing around and feeding. It's as much fun as shooting an air show with old planes. Hi Chris,

A superb set of shots of absolutely wonderful creatures, what a terrific group of subjects to enjoy - and it looks like they're having just as much fun.

(We're only <--------- this --------> much jealous! :cool: ).

Thank you for sharing... :)

Hi Everyone... My first day in the forum... I'm a professional photographer, educator, traveler, author, consultant and Pappy (grand father)... It's nice to be in this community and I look forward to learning and sharing. 2023 marked my 50th year in the photography business so I've come a long way through A2D (analog to digital)... Studied fashion photography in college and now even though I'll never retire, I am semi retired after traveling the world as a photographer and educator. My primary camera today is the R5 and half my lenses are RF and the other half are EL... I'm currently at the airport leaving for 35 days (30 day cruise starting in Sydney where my wife and I will be giving lectures on creative media fundamentals...) so not sure how many R5 images are on my computer but over the next few weeks there will be plenty... Cheers... Eddie
Great to have you here on the forum Eddie. I have been a fan of yours for a long time and have enjoyed your easy to understand teaching immensely. I attended a seminar back in 2006, if memory serves me correctly, that was you and some other guy together.....and I was in Photoshop nerd heaven to say the least. I attended for your content, but the other guy's was informative as well.

Absolutely STUNNING photos, and I agree with Phil - number 3 is my favorite.

Another very nice set of photos; always love the robins. The guilty-looking squirrel looks amazing like the fellow I chased off our feeder this morning; must be a relative. And the arms race between squirrels and feeder baffles continues...

Hi Don,

Cheers - appreciated!

The squirrel was a classic - caught raiding the bird seed, this little cutie (and its buddy) scarpered as we approached then peeked to see if we were looking. :)
