When the trains are not running people walk all over the platform, crossing sides, taking pictures, etc. I've never read of anyone getting hurt.

The birds are out on this fine Spring day, so I got a chance to capture some photos :) :)
This stubborn one turned his back and decided when he was going to let me get a good shot

‘Out of Office’ - We’re away for a few days on a Frank-Fest and will be unable to provide feedback until after we return. Have lots of fun in our absence! :)

In the meantime, a few more images from our recent visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL Elite, Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz Labs Photo AI. Compilations feature: R7 Karen and R5 Phil).

For the first image in the caption competition contenders group, the fish, I suggest "Read My Lips."

Torre dos Clerigos tower, Porto, Portugal. A bit of an overcast day so we just wandered around. I took this shot about a block from our hotel. I like the rooftops. Porto is in the top 5 of our favourite cities.

Palacio da Bolsa, Porto, Portugal. I used to do a lot more of this type of shooting. Phil inspired me to do a little more.

When we were in Porto in 2020 we walked past this church every day. It was one of our landmarks.

A cold southerly blew through today with some welcome rain, but yesterday was warm with butterflies...

Cabbage white or Pepe ma (Pieris rapae).

Everything seems to like feeding on the massed pink flowerhead of the succulents around the garden...

If we get another warm day soon, I intend to try a shot of the clouds of cabbage whites I've seen over the fields of kale planted as winter fodder for sheep and cattle.

He’s Amish.

(For those who don’t know, most Amish DO NOT want their pictures taken - especially not their faces. Our local nature conservancy hired an Amish crew to put a new roof on their barn. The director wanted to take pictures of the work in progress for the newsletter and they asked him to let them know when he was going to take a shot, so they could turn their backs).

One of my first images with the new 200-800
I am pretty happy with the handling and the sharpness. Not sure why I was at 5000thof a sec but it worked. ISO was 3200, noise reduction with DxO prime raw processed in LR, PS with TK9 and nik color efex pro

A new RF 24-105 F4L arrived a couple of days ago. Back in the EF days, I only shot with a tripod and cabled release. All shots were hand held at the Providence Steel and Iron Company Complex located in a historic industrial complex area of the city.

Hi Walter,

A series of absolutely fascinating shots to showcase your new tech (and talents!) - this looks like a wonderful site for photography.

It's almost impossible to single out a favourite (but we do like B&W!).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Only RF,

A scene with a treasure of interest - and ripe for an amusing caption.

(Karen's homemade pizza dough and stone baked pizzas are one of our signature meals - though cycling is not involved in their production or delivery).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Only RF,

Loving these B&W cityscapes - the night-time shot in particular is absolutely superb.

If a tree stump was designed by Picasso

View attachment 35551
Hi Mike,

If trees could reveal what they've witnessed during their time, we suspect there would be some fascinating tales told here.

(We have a 210+ year old oak in our front garden - and we often reflect on all that's happened while it's been in existence).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂
