Hi funjp,

Some mighty beasts of the air featured here - all well captured and set between the beautiful blossom and dynamic sky.

(We suspect they came with an impressive soundtrack too!).

Thank you for sharing... :)

Thanks Phil . This is the place where part of this music video was filmed at . I know , by the end credits of another video , that some scenes in this music video were filmed with Canon C series cameras . I think that it's safe to assume that the whole music video was filmed with Canon C series cameras . The same look throughout the entire video .

Hi funjp,

That's a really neat tie-in - thanks for the link! :)

A first shot from the new camera and glass, which turned up today. All a bit complicated! Took me quite the while to get it switched into a useable form.. note to self, read the manual..View attachment 27871
Hi Mike,

Congratulations on your new tech - looks like you're off to a flying start! :)

(We have a disturbing habit of only reading the instructions when we sell something - then we realise what we've missed. Cameras are one of the major exceptions, despite most user manuals having various issues - there are many invaluable tips and tricks buried away in there. Frequent short visits are definitely recommended).

On a sunset hike last evening, I was able to creep closer and closer to this Tree Sparrow, a couple of feet at a time. Before it took flight, it stretched its wings down, then up.View attachment 27873
Hi Jim,

A terrific capture of this beautiful (and extremely skittish/ fast) creature - wonderful pose, feather details and the perfect eye catch-light!

Well done - and thank you for sharing... :)

Our final image for this month's thread - a shot of 'Inka' from last weekend's visit to Chester Zoo, Chester, England.

On arrival at the Jaguar Experience we found a woman stood at the rail 'having a chat' with Inka, who sat looking on patiently. Turns out this woman was her keeper when she was born and initially raised at The Big Cat Sanctuary, which is near Ashford in Kent, England - you can read more by clicking Here. Inka followed up by having a very fine time showing her old acquaintance that she still remembered a few tricks. Fun!

(This image was shot raw by Karen and processed by Phil using: DxO PL Elite, Adobe LrC/ PS - with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz Labs Photo AI/ Studio 2).

Sadly, we brought more away from the zoo than just raw files - 'we'd have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for those (15 coach loads of school) kids'...

:)

Fear not - it's nothing more than a crummy cold!

Phil and Karen

What an absolute cutie...

Waxeye, Silvereye, or Tauhou (Zosterops lateralis)

It's been a busy month with little opportunity for image making (apart from a passport photo of the elder grandson), but we're just gearing up for an extended trip to the UK and Spain to see family and friends, and celebrate a big birthday. Pix will follow, but I know not when. ;-)

Ok my last images for this month, greeat crested grebe and female marsh harier from todays walk in new spot. See all in may and good luck capturing great photos :p

Hi Bartosz,

Another terrific series of images to round off your wonderful contributions for this month (we're already looking forward to May!).

All beautifully captured - we'd probably choose #2 as our favourite (superb eye colour and catch-light), but #3 runs it very close.

Well done all round - and thank you for sharing... :)

Hi Gareth,

A super capture of an absolute little cutie - and thank you for taking the time to share this amid your travel preparations.

Have a safe and fun trip - if you could bring some sunshine with you when you visit the UK, that would be excellent... :)

(Already looking forward to seeing your images!).

Ah, I was rather hoping you might arrange the sun!

Thanks for the kind comments. Might not make the May thread, unless I can work out a sensible workflow in Lightroom on my iPad, and hit some fast internet. But there should be some good opportunities between London, Dorset, Bath, Wrexham, York and Girona. We’ll need a holiday when we get back here!
