Hi David,

A fine capture/ composition of a beautiful creature - excellent control of the light given the competing demands, resulting in great detail/ rich colour.

(And what a little cutie!).

Thank you for sharing... :)

Thank you.

Nothing in the air today so I had to go with duck raft.

Hi Only RF,

A very fine duck indeed - with superb eye catch-light, a touch of warming sun (we should be so lucky!) and, importantly, the beautifully crafted raft... :)

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks. Ducks have hidden skills we don't know about.

Hi David,

Very well seen (that's rather effective natural camouflage for this scenario!) and nicely caught - terrific fine feather detail and superb eye catch-light.

Thank you for sharing... :)

We’ll shortly be away enjoying the next winter Frank-Fest (rest assured, we haven’t lost our touch - the weather forecast is looking absolutely abysmal) so we won't be able to provide any feedback to fresh posts until after we return.

Chester Zoo - Here we come (again)!

We’ll be back…

Hi David,

What an astonishing image. (Two questions which immediately arise are - 1. Which way is up? and 2. Is this some kind of stunt parrot?).

A shot which certainly captures the viewer's attention and sets the heart racing - it's like looking at a teaser for 'Bird Air Crash Investigation'.

(I can hear the investigator's voice-over in my head - 'we've found the 4 corners of the parrot, so we know it wasn't a mid-air break up... 😂).

Very well seen and caught! Thank you for sharing... :)

My 15 year old granddaughter finally got her braces off after wearing them for 4 years! She asked me to take some portraits of her and her new smile! I set up some lights in my garage/workshop and after shooting there we stopped at a local park. It was overcast so very nice for outdoor portraits.

I shot with my Canon R, I still really love that camera for portraits, still life, and landscape. I mostly used the 24-105mm and the 70-200mm f/4 lenses.

Well, you really nailed this pair of cuties - superb eye-catch-light and control of the light (an extremely challenging dynamic range here - to say the least).

Hi Mimi,

We love visiting zoos - always a fun photographic challenge with so many different subjects to try and capture.

(Our most recent visit this past weekend netted over 5,000 raw files - good luck with the processing Phil... )

You've done brilliantly here, with a terrific set of fascinating images which are guaranteed to delight any viewer.

Impossible to single out a favourite but the shot of the cloud leopard? (we think) is absolutely sublime.

Well done all-round - and thank you for sharing... :)

Wonderful captures of truly magnificent creatures to showcase your tech (and talents!). Terrific detail evident throughout with great subject isolation.

Difficult to choose a favourite, but #3 (just) takes it.

Well done indeed - and thank you for sharing... :)
