Your Photo of the Week

Week 28.

Sorry that it has been so long since my last post here. Life has been rather busy but now that I have a house move out of the way and also now have a lot more nature directly on my doorstep, I can hopefully start shooting some more again.

Although we are expecting our second child in July so that might hamper my shooting plans slightly! :)

A little house sparrow in our new garden. I'm currently working on attracting as many different birds as possible! We have a great spotted woodpecker who visits most days, I just need to get a nice shot of him which is a challenge since he's quite flighty.

Congratulations on the move and the impending little one! What a cute shot. I love the lifted foot!

Oh, how exciting to have a new arrival soon. Very exciting!

Week 17 A bit of sibling rivalry between two Canada geese goslings. It was hard to take shots I was laughing so hard at their antics after this.

Gorgeous shot Hali. It's a great time of year!

Week 18 Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Maine, as the storm clouds and the fog pulls out.

This is super, I love the feel of movement and the car is so crisp!
Thanks Hali, it was almost binned to be honest. The ISO and f stop were as low as possible but it was overexposed because of the slow shutter and bright sunshine. The sky was burnt out, so a bit of crazy processing happened. Ideally I should have put an ND filter on but the cars come out in short sessions and I didn’t have much time to faff about.

Week 30. A female great spotted woodpecker in the garden being photobombed by some sheep! Fortunately we have a pair so are hoping to see some little ones soon too. They are quite flighty birds though.

A beautiful bird. Wonderful shot.
Thank you very much Kathryn. They are lovely birds. Hopefully they are successful with breeding this season and we will see some little ones in the garden soon. They are feeding a lot right now so we assume they are feeding their young.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
