In the meantime, a few images from a recent(ish) visit to Chester Zoo, Cheshire, England.

Nice work as usual

Wood Duck Drake flyby at a local Wetland area on 3.28.25. Had some nice light at his departure time from the pond area at Huntley Meadows in Alexandria VA

I haven't getting been getting out much. 3 storms in the last few weeks so big they got names. I should be taking advantage of the inclement weather like I used to. Maybe it's an age thing. Drove out to Cape St. Vincent, Portugal yesterday and it was so windy on the south side it was hard to stand still. West side cliffs. Not much to work with but always spectacular. Started pouring rain ½ hour after we got there.

Spent the morning near the Gulf of MEXICO, not far from Galveston at the Smith Oaks Bird Sanctuary. A cool front had blown through so it was windy but also very bright sun which always makes shooting white birds a challenge. But the birds are courting and building nests, some were sitting on eggs so in a month or so we should see chicks. I still maintain there is something a miss with my R6 MKII as it still seems to fire off a few shots after I remove my finger from the shutter button. Canon says it is working as designed so who knows.

Some more abstract, "light" photography.

I took the clear shot at a red light for reference.
The moving shots were taken at different red lights by having the camera mounted on the dashboard and using the Droid Canon App to take the pictures just as the lights turned green. This created the streaks of movement as the vehicle began moving.
Double sided tape is a cool thing to mount the camera for effects. 357A2292R.JPG

In a break from grandparental duties, we took a walk along Wellington’s south coast (the Red Rocks Walk), and despite the calm ocean, Sinclair Head was piling up some multi-metre waves in a classic point break.

(Preliminary edits only: done in LR on my ageing iPad Pro. Mostly just Adaptive profile plus Auto.)

All of the images of are fantastic, but the clever choice of captions add to the viewing enjoyment!
Hi Walter,

Cheers - very much appreciated!

(We aim to please and, where possible, induce some giggling... :) ).

Hi Only RF,

Peering out over the edge is always a thing (particularly for Phil, who's a bit of a wuss) - but the presence of a storm jacks things up several levels.

Well done on keeping a steady hand!

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Chris,

A series of superbly controlled and eye-catching captures - wind, sun, white birds and a camera with revolutionary post-burst, you did extremely well.

Tough to single out a favourite - #2 and 3 are absolute cuties - but for us the final image just takes it.

Thank you for sharing... 🙂
