This little coal tit was spoilt for choice when I scattered some sunflower hearts on this mossy log in the garden.

Hi Ed,

Nature a wonderful medium for creativity - thank you for sharing this captivating composition. :)

Thank you, Phil!

Hi Tim,

A terrific capture of a beautiful creature - excellent detail and subject isolation.

(And what a little cutie! :) ).

Thanks P&K! I was hoping that the nuthatch would land on there as well but not this time unfortunately.

Hi Tim,

Not too long now until I'll be trudging around our local woods in the mud armed with a bag of bird seed and peanuts looking to build some symbiotic relationships with the local avian population (aka Phil's philanthropic photographic bribery... :) ).

Last year there was often a fairly decent line-up of robins, blackbirds, blue/ cold tits and nuthatches.

One for trainspotters! The brand new (and yet to be officially named) loco #8 ‘James Spooner’ - a double Fairlie locomotive - the eighth to run on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway and the fifth to be built entirely at its Boston Lodge workshops. Shown here at Porthmadog Station, Gwynedd, Wales.

(This shot was taken during a recent journey on the railway - more images from which will be coming to this forum soon!).

The original James Spooner loco, built in 1872, was named after the first manager of the railway and was retired in 1928, so we thought - what may our image have looked like back then…

(Shot raw and processed using: Adobe Lightroom Classic/ Photoshop with TK-9 Panels. Re-edited with: DxO FilmPack/ Nik Collection and Topaz Studio 2).

You can find out more about the James Spooner locos (present and past) by clicking Here (interestingly the shot of the loco they've used on this page is dated the same day we were there) and Here. You can read about the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway by clicking Here.

A couple of days ago I was tasked with another attempt at a passport photo for our 2 yr old granddaughter - the first having been rejected for a stray lock of hair across her face, and accidentally discovered a new supermodel...

You might suspect that I'm a tad biased, but I'm not, honest... ;-)

Processed in LRC using various combinations of Adaptive presets, especially pop, and the Portraits: Deep Skin PD04 Yellow preset. I used the Lens Blur feature on the middle shot to reduce the impact of the plug behind her. With a bit more time to play around, I might Photoshop that out completely.

Supermodel, she is! Reminded me of my sessions with my granddaughter fifteen years ago. Later, one of her photographs was included in a book after being selected by the judges.

Hi Gareth,

The future is looking very bright - we suspect you’re going to be kept rather busy for the foreseeable future! 😀

(But what a great way to pursue your hobby).

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
