Your Photo of the Week

I was out at a local lake a followed this guy and his Nate around from a distance for about an hour. He wanted to get around a floating dock and felt comfortable enough to come up and land to go around!

Week 8 - Prairie Crocus - I took this lying on the ground on a very chilly windy day. I enjoyed using the RF 100 to 500 instead of a macro lens. I used a fast shutter speed but the light was good. I did sharpen this photograph at all.

Very nice depth of field control.

Week 8. I missed a week last week :( I need to get out more! Thankfully last week I made a trip up to Bempton Cliffs here in the UK to shoot the northern gannets, they are our largest seabirds with a wingspan up to 180cm. Exposing for the whites here pretty much blacked out the background.

That is a cool shot! I would love to see Gannets some day.

They are so different than anything we have here. I really enjoy seeing the photos of them. Their heads remind me of toasted marshmallows. 😁

Very nice! Is there any light other than natural used? It is nicely exposed. Also if you are interested in Locomotives of the steam variety, the is a guy named Eric Curry on Youtube that has one I think you will find interesting. Search for the expression "Eric Curry Light Painting Locomotive". ;)

Thanks Copterdoc. It was natural light but I did do a bit of "burning" in Lightroom on the very bright areas. Also used an adjustment brush in LR to "light-up" the headlight.

I also like the splash of red left on the front. Nice technique.

Week 5.

Old "6167" was relocated in November to it's new location in Guelph's John Galt Park which is far more photographer friendly then the previous spot near the train station.
I too really like this shot. It is hard to find steam trains that are not in museums or other places that are not very photogenic
