We hope you have fun making wonderful images this month!

(Started a little early as we’ll be away and offline on the 1st).

Stay safe and well…

Any R System images can be posted. If you would like to say something about your images in terms of the subject, settings, or any post-processing, that will be very welcome.

Remember, you don't have to only post things you took this month - sometimes people don't get around to processing/ editing images straight after shooting them. (Think of it more as an ‘images I’d like to post here this month’ thing).

Images posted here will also be available to view in a dedicated Monthly R System Images Galley, which can be found by clicking Here.

Commenting on other people’s posts is encouraged, as it keeps everyone interested and coming back. (Please try to be considerate, thoughtful and constructive).

We’ll aim to provide some feedback too - but please note we are away for part of each month and busy with ‘life stuff’. The lack of a comment from us is not a sign of disfavour!

*** We are away until mid-July with limited/ no connectivity - so apologies, but we won't be able to provide any feedback until we return. ***

Finally, please post in accordance with the RF Shooters Community Guidelines.

Thank you!

Images from our recent visit to Chester Zoo, Chester, England.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PhotoLab Elite/ Nik Collection, Adobe Lightroom Classic/ Photoshop and Topaz Studio 2).

You can find out more about Chester Zoo by clicking Here.

This photo taken in March at the Chobe National Park in Botswana. I had over 7000 images and have been slowly working my way through to determine the keepers - I suspect no more than maybe 50-60 keepers. Anyway, I did process this image back in March using DxO Pure Raw and DxO PL6, and only adjusted exposure, contrast, color and the like - no PhotoShop and no elements added or removed.

Still working on panorama’s from our Grand Canyon trip. 17 shots from Pima Point along the Hermits Rest Road. Have to say the GPS connection with the Canon Connect app is pretty flawless when it comes to tagging images. I forget that I have it set up and I get home and they’re all tagged as long as I have my phone in my pocket.

Sometimes my wife will take pictures of me and the kids. When I’m in the picture, the blue tooth doesn’t reach.

These three giraffes seem to be doing an impersonation of Yosemite. I think an overlay would be cool.

Just back from a few days in Bali checking out wedding venues for my daughter. A couple of sunsets, where I somehow ended up shooting in jpeg only (don't look to closely at the shadow detail, or rather the lack of detail) a few of the Cathedral in Sanur taken with the RF16 f2.8 and a few beach shots with her fiancé. A good chance to give the RF85 f2 a work out.

Incoming! Hide your cats and gerbils. He's even got his flight goggles on. EOS-R, EF 100-400L II + 1.4X III @ 560mm on control ring adapter, F8, 1/1000, ISO 640.

Off camera flash . Some playing around with Adobe Lightroom to introduce grain in the background and not a perfect job in Adobe Photoshop to add the lipstick and some skin corrections . Some of you might have noticed that the paper lantern color is possibly wrong .

Bridges
A few shots I took while taking an evening photo walk with my wife. It was a pleasant night to walk around the area of the Longfellow Bridge, which spans the Charles River between Boston and Cambridge Massachusetts. On the bridge capturing some light trails...

The main navigational pathway under the bridge and part of the Boston skyline. The bridge is sometimes called the "salt and pepper" bridge because of the 4 distinct towers of the bridge.

A shot of the entire bridge taken a couple of years ago. The LED lighting installed after a massive reconstruction of the bridge in 2013 is customizable. The blue color in the shot above is the default color, but the lights are changed to commemorate different events, holidays, or causes. The photo below shows orange and purple lighting to raise awareness of Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Back to our walk, I also captured light trails on the Memorial Drive causeway that extends over the river near the bridge.

Last bridge of the night; the Leonard Zakim/Bunker Hill Bridge that spans the Charles River closer to the ocean. While it can also display different colors, the design of the color projection isn't nearly as effective as the Longfellow so most of the bridge is lit white. Still a pretty bridge though...
