Your R System Images - November 2023

I was wandering around the mudflats with my usual combo (R5 + 1.4 extender + RF 100–500).

In light of this week's announcement of Christmas goodies from Santa Canon, I wonder whether I'd be better equipped with the new tele zoom: 800mm f/9 instead of being 'limited' to 700mm f/10.

That's an expensive thought but, although I am beguiled, I have not succumbed to temptation…

…yet.

RF 100–500 + 1.4 extender = 420–700mm; f/10 at 700mm
RF 200-800 (no extender) = 200–800mm; f/9 at 800mm
Hi David,

That 'yet' does sound rather expensive - but having succumbed to various temptations (on numerous occasions) in the past, we feel your pain... :)

(And we're looking forward to seeing your shots...).

Does the photo in the QR code look familiar... The one titled Follow Me?
Hi Dean,

Certainly does - definitely seen him somewhere before...

(We're never quite certain what's reality in your ingenious images - but we're pretty sure you‘re for real. Well, 95% :D)

Great set Phil, but then I wouldn't expect anything less. The castle looks a lot like the one half way down Loch Ness

Hi Kerro,

Thank you for those very kind words - much appreciated! :)

Kilchurn Castle is quite a sight - helped in no small way by its setting across Loch Awe. I’ve not visited Urquhart Castle (the one on Loch Ness), though Karen has. It’s on our hit list for when we’re next up in that neck of the woods.
