The "Odensha" (a portmanteau of oden, a Japanese hotpot dish popular in the winter months and densha, electric train). A special street car in the City of Toyohashi, running from Nov. to Feb., where one can spend an hour and a half on a round-trip ride, eating oden with the unlimited drinking of beer and cheap sake (there is a toilet break half way through ). Cost:￥5,000 (about $35 USD)

That is so cool. Are the toilet seats heated? Most public toilets in Tokyo had heated toilet seats. My wife loved it.

I think the break is at the stadium, so probably not. But some toilets, in addition to the heat and bidet function, also have the noise feature, which plays the sound of rushing/flushing water to cover up embarrassing toilet noises one might make.

We did not stay long enough. We only seen Tokyo and Kyoto. Took the bullet train past Mount Fuji on the way to Kyoto. loved it. I'd go back.

This short stop-over broke a long-ish journey. Regular viewers will be shocked to hear it rained throughout our visit (of course it did). This is a very large estate and we could only scratch the surface - we’ll be back...

1. Positioned on the edge of the Peak District, Lyme was home to the Legh family. The estate, granted to Sir Thomas Danyers in 1346, passed to the Leghs of Lyme by marriage in 1388.

3. Do Not Adjust Your Sets - Accompanying the festive decorations was ‘Animal Crackers’, designed by The Strange Train Company, an event which promised visitors would be ‘taken on a self-guided visual journey of mischievous merrymaking’...

4. Like many grand houses, Lyme was built and rebuilt, embellished and enlarged throughout its history.

5. Lyme remained in the possession of the Legh family until 1946 when it was given to the National Trust.
