Protea Pink Ice : Protea Nerifolia X Susannae

Hi David,

A superbly detailed and well controlled capture of nature at its most delightful and engrossing - a feast of interest on show here.

(Having read your follow-up technical ‘how I did it’ reveal - even more impressive stuff!).

Well done - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

My ME course is coming to a close but there will be lots of these still to come. It's a new obsession. As I may have said it combines the best of all worlds for me - being out with my camera (although I've spent too much time in cities for my like the last few months and not enough in greenery-the city ones are recent images and the two garden ones are from the summer) and playing around on the computer. If anyone is interested in Multiple Exposure I highly recommend my teacher, she's based in the UK and leads in person workshops as well as classes on zoom. (And she shoots with a Canon R series!!)View attachment 34875View attachment 34876View attachment 34877View attachment 34878View attachment 34879
Hi Hali,

A series of mesmerising and captivating creative images.

Imaginative and inspirational - thank you for sharing... 🙂

We've resurfaced to grab some air amid a sea of raw files (4 zoo visits in 2 weeks = 11,000 raw files to sort out!) - and what a feast for the eyes awaited!

Well done to everyone who has contributed to the thread with images and comments - all very much appreciated.

As we wait for the latest set of zoo images to emerge from a red hot MacBook Pro, some zoo images from earlier visits to Chester Zoo, Cheshire, England.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL Elite, Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz Labs Photo AI. Compilations are: R7 Karen and R5 Phil).

Great set. I have to get out to our zoo more often.

A few more. Been heading out to that rock for 5 years and never had a day like this. Patience pays off.

I can only hold my gear up for so long and you never know when these are about to leave. Got lucky.

Hi Only RF,

Cheers - much appreciated!

Zoo's are our favoured winter venues as there's always plenty to photograph and generally somewhere cosy and quiet to warm up.

Hi David,

A superb BIF capture of an absolutely magnificent creature - wonderful pose, detail and eye-pop.

(On the flip side, it would appear this was not a particularly great day for the fish).

Well done - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

Nice, the Tigers are just fab

We’re suckers for flowing, or frozen in the act of flowing, water so image #1 is our favourite. Very nice.

Image #2 is an intriguing minimalist composition which captures the viewer's attention and draws them in (though it's hard to put a finger on why).
I’m slowly finding that “natural-abstracts-that-aren’t-really-abstract” and minimalism* seems to be my niche.

*this sometimes causes domestic disharmony, when “someone” finds my use of negative space to be excessive…

Popped along to Knockhill for a Rally event. The cold and remnants of man flu eventually beat me into an early retreat. Felt grungy so grungy processing.. Last time out with the camera the autofocus was struggling to lock on now and again. Did the latest firmware update and used vehicle tracking and panning assist in Tv mode. Seemed to do the trick. Apologies again for the marmite processing.

Tried using LRC's new "adaptive profile" on this, and liked what it did. Not true for everything, but worth playing with.
Hi Gareth,

Yes, a most pleasing outcome - I've only had the briefest of plays with Adaptive Profiles (in Photoshop - not yet in LrC).

Definitely worth giving it a go n this instance... :)

Visiting the castle park in winter.
View of the trees through the shortest sides of two zoom lenses 14mm of 14-35 and 70mm of 70-200 - difference in perspective.

Hi Pavel,

Two contrasting, but equally powerful and visually striking compositions - love the expansive feel of image #1 (leading the viewer to the absolutely wonderful lone tree), and the B&W treatment for image #2 is spot on.

Well done all-round - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Mike,

A series of beautifully captured - and presented - action shots. Love the treatment, which lends these 'new/ fresh' images a pleasing yesteryear slant.

The perfect blend of focus and action blur helps to give the viewer a real sense of the sheer energy and adrenaline fuelled excitement of the occasion.

Well done indeed - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

(Hope you feel better soon!).
