A young owl eagerly anticipating breakfast - taken earlier this morning in Hartshill Country Park, Warwickshire, England.

Very well spotted by Karen (but I was the one who had taken a camera...

Our nearest star — as it was eight and a bit minutes before the shutter was pressed (pre-capture comes to the R5!).

Hi David,

That looks like a very fine way to start any day. Living around 2 miles from the calculated centre of England, we're about as far away from the sea as you can get in every direction, so it's always pleasing to see an expansive watery vista - particularly so when it's drenched by a golden dawn.
