My feeding station has been especially busy these last few days, with constant activity and lots of visitors, I guess it was this that attracted my latest visitor. Just caught a little commotion out of the corner of my eye, there was one of the resident wood pigeons sat on the feeder, not 10 feet away from it was the Sparrowhawk. It gave it the eye for about a minute, then swooped off. View attachment 26304

Well seen and beautifully caught (superb detail and eye pop). What a fantastic creature and an amazing sight.

Reminds me of an occasion few years back where I had an altercation with a sparrowhawk which was in the process of attacking a blackbird in our front garden (twice!). It eventually left after I gave it a major telling off - which would have left anyone overhearing me wondering what was going on...

(Made me quite popular with the blackbird - which survived both incidents).

Thanks! I've tried a lot to get the best of. In reality just 10% of shots was good enough for me. Distance, snowing, light, tremor LOL However, goood lense. And nice subjects)
