It made me recall two things. First, the design in the US paper currency with the eye on the pyramid. Second, the Pyramid in front of the Louvre by I. M. Pei. A pleasant experience to visit, I'm sure.

Some recent photos:
A grey catbird: the only color this bird has is on its rump, so to capture the color one usually needs to take an unflattering rear end shot. In this case the bird twisted and flicked its tail enough to be captured from a more flattering angle.

My wife and I had another nice summer evening walk around the Charles River area. I took this compressed photo of three very different-styled bridges

The green cantilever truss bridge is the Tobin Bridge that connects the city of Chelsea with Charlestown. The white Zakim Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that connects Charlestown to downtown Boston, and the classic, restored Longfellow Bridge is an arch bridge design that connects the cities of Cambridge and Boston. This photo was actually taken from a fourth bridge, The Harvard Bridge, which somewhat confusingly connects the campus of MIT (not Harvard) with Boston. While I grew up here and have instincts for maneuvering the crazy road system, I pity any visitors to Boston who have to drive through the city...

Don't know how well this will come out for viewing because it is a long, thin panorama, but this is an ~180 degree panorama from the Harvard Bridge showing both sides of the Charles River, with the Cambridge skyline on the left and Boston on the right.

I decided to play with the panorama and created a double-mirrored image by creating a vertical copy of the panorama as a pseudo-reflection, then mirrored the panorama horizontally on the Cambridge side, then ran the image through the PS polar coordinate filter to create a "tiny planet" effect.

A terrific set of images. It was looking like it was going to be very difficult to choose a favourite - then we saw the final one. What a stunner! Brilliantly imagined and skilfully realised - well done indeed...

(Have you decided which wall you're going to put this one on yet?).

In hindsight, it may have been better if I'd kept/ enhanced the faded sepia a little more - but there you go (coffee break over, time to get on with it... ).

We are really in the depths of the dog days of summer here in SE Texas with temps well over 100 f each day. So our local photography club decided to just have a fun non photography meetup, an afternoon at the bowling alley. They have a Thursday special of $2 per person per game plus shoe rental. I had a hernia repair surgery a week before so didn't think tossing a bowling ball was a good idea and decided to just take pictures instead.

Took my R7, a Tamron 10-24mm lens as well as my Canon RF 70-200mm f/4. Lighting was so so in the lane area. The place has a game section to keep the kids busy so I took a few shots of the more colorful objects. Enjoyed the air conditioning which was quite cold there!
